Coca Cola and the Puerto Rico Coffee Industry

Just recently Coca Cola purchased 85% of the Puerto Rico coffee brands. Now Coca Cola is not marketing good coffee of Puerto Rico is just a brand they are using coffee from Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica and Dominican Republic to mix it with Puertorican coffee worst of all they are not using class A coffee of Puerto Rico they are using a 3rd class coffee. So watch out for this brands it is the same coffee just packed in different brands of labels- Alto Grande, Cafe Crema, Yauco Selecto, Encantos, Cafe Rioja, Yaucono, La Tahona, Cafe Rico just to mention a few.
There for where you find good coffee of Puerto Rico have to go back to basic will have to go to the Haciendas and purchase it directly. There are a few left like Cafe 3 Picachos, Cafe Lareño, Cafe Cibales, Quality Coffee, Hacienda San Pedro, Cafe Don Pello. What can be done well Bernardo Diaz, president of Harvests of the World and the owner of the museum of coffee in Ciales are looking to roast and produce using only class A arabica coffee beans of the best regions and zones of Puerto Rico the name of this brand will be Cafe Exclusiva this coffee is out all ready and certified check at http://www.harvestsoftheworld.com

We have been honored to be sold in the European market as one of very few single origins fit for blended use in an espresso.
The result of this blend has been an enhanced body profile with a clean cup. It is an opportunity for roasters and consumers to enjoy the traditional Caribbean taste with enhanced character.Quality control is at the top of our priority list.
